The Hard Ask
We need your monthly financial support. Consider making a commitment this holiday season.
You can learn more about the merit of what we're doing HERE, HERE and HERE.
Or you can let this be your act of resistance to the holiday madness. If you're truly thankful, make a donation on Black Friday or Cyber Monday rather than indulge in run-amok capitalism. If you cringe at the shallowness of secularized Christmas, give a gift that can make a profound difference.
In fundraising, there is this moment called "the ask." This is when, after making a case for your cause, you ask others to join in -- usually financially, in prayer, or in other ways. If you don't ask, then you don't receive, right?
This is something we've had to do over the past few years and, if you know us, you know it's something we don't like to do.
We've actually learned to appreciate many aspects of fundraising. It's an opportunity to share about how we've seen God's Mission unfolding and describe how we've attempted to be good partners -- hands and feet -- in this Mission. Our hope is these stories provide encouragement an energy to those who are unable to be there.
The sharing part of fundraising comes easy but the asking part of fundraising is hard. It's humbling, awkward and (culturally) very un-Mennonite. But it's important.
We're now moving from "the ask," which we've been making quite a bit since returning from Lithuania, to "the hard ask" -- clear, direct to the point, and urgent. So again, we say:

As always, we send our greatest thanks and appreciation to all who have faithfully supported us over the years and we look forward to those of you who are willing to join us from here on out.
We're still softies: after all that talk about money, we feel obliged to share some new Asher footage. Enjoy!
