In fundraising, there is this moment called "the ask." This is when, after making a case for your cause, you ask others to join in -- usually financially, in prayer, or in other ways. If you don't ask, then you don't receive, right?

This is something we've had to do over the past few years and, if you know us, you know it's something we don't like to do.

We've actually learned to appreciate many aspects of fundraising. It's an opportunity to share about how we've seen God's Mission unfolding and describe how we've attempted to be good partners -- hands and feet -- in this Mission. Our hope is these stories provide encouragement an energy to those who are unable to be there.

The sharing part of fundraising comes easy but the asking part of fundraising is hard. It's humbling, awkward and (culturally) very un-Mennonite. But it's important.

We're now moving from "the ask," which we've been making quite a bit since returning from Lithuania, to "the hard ask" -- clear, direct to the point, and urgent. So again, we say:
